With the first group of our Heroes we split them up with their Huskie and sent them off to other rooms where they went through the interview process. We only got to hear individual stories. We changed things up with the second group and improved the process with our third and current group, we put into our schedule a panel discussion day.
On panel discussion day, we put all the veterans in front of the room with Tim Elge acting as a moderator. This time we gave the students a topic and had them write a question for the veterans about the topic. Then after introductions, the students took turns asking questions of the panel. This group of Heroes is very interesting and have great stories about their military experiences and I learned that 90 minutes is NOT enough time for this session.
