They went to dock at port when they saw this Russian ship. That said on the radio that the ship on the port side wasn't there. And that was his ship and they all had to go to battle stations and they keep trying the throw off their radar by making noises. They fired a dummy missile at his ship and they were about to fire a real missile but they didn't and he had to be at battle stations for three days. ~~Jack Well I learned a lot yesterday about my veteran Rex Nissan and the bases he served at and had a really fun time while learning about it. He taught me things I didn't know like that there were b52 jets loaded with nukes on stand by. I also learned that boot camp back then was a lot shorter than boot camp is today. And tech school was a lot longer. We shared a lot of laughs talking about the time he served. Overall it was a really fun experience and I would love to do it again.

Wow Jack, can you imagine how stressful it was to be ready at "battle stations" for days on end? With possible missiles heading your way at any time? My guess is your veteran didn't get much sleep for those few days! Where was the port they were in, do you know?
